We have been sending you notifications over the last few months that there are new overtime rules coming into effect on December 1, 2016. These rules would have required anyone making less than $47,476 per year to be paid hourly.
Well, those rules have been delayed for now by an injunction place on the Department of Labor by a Texas judge. It is not clear at this time when or if these rules will be reinstated so for now everyone can work with the existing rules. Those are anyone making less than$23,660 must be paid hourly.
Please remember that in spite of the compensation thresholds listed above there are still rules governing when a person can be considered exempt from overtime rules based on job duties tests.
